Carl Ward
Then...! Now...!
Carl Ward

Carl graduated from Cape in January of 1967 with a Bachelor of Science degree with majors in Mathematics and Fine Arts. Prior to starting college, he was drafted into the US Army and spent the last year of his 2 years of military duty in Korea. Immediately after graduation, Carl married Harriet Byrd from Sikeston, Missouri. He was then employed by McDonnell as a computer programmer and later as a systems programmer. At the height of his career with McDonnell, he managed a department of about 50 professional system programmers that supported IBM mainframe and mini computers distributed all over the McDonnell buildings in the St. Louis and St. Charles area. During this time, Carl lived in several different communities of North St. Louis County. He had 2 children, Mark and Karen. Carl retired from McDonnell-Douglas in 1994. About 6 years after that, he moved back to St. Charles, his home town. And by the way, he loves retirement. In his spare time just for fun, he developes webpages (he created this Pi Kappa Alpha EI web site). He also teaches home computer classes for adults, both in his home and at the St. Charles County Community College.

Jim (Dingle) Berry
Then...! Now...!
Jim Berry

Upon graduating from SEMO, Jim served for 3 years as an officer in the U. S. Army Transportation Corps (first in Virginia, then in Viet Nam). After completion of service in Viet Nam, he returned to the U. S. and began a business career spanning domestic and international sales for several major computer software firms; and in the 90's several "startups." During that time Jim's family took up residence in over half dozen cities in the US and Europe.

Jim married his high school sweetheart in 1968, and they've lived in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1985. They have 1 daughter, Nicole, who is married and lives in SF. They moved to the Sonoma County Wine Country (an hour north of SF) 9 years ago, where they currently reside.

Jim decided to leave the "grown up" world of employment in 1996, and has been consulting with "early stage" software startups since, helping them to set up offshore sales operations in various parts the world.

Bob Cox
Then...! Now...!
Bob Cox

It seems difficult to believe that Margaret and I have worked in our accounting practice since 1976, and that we have been married for over 35 years.

I am currently the president of SEMO's alumni association. A position that I really enjoy, but at Homecoming, with numerous alumni events, a new building dedication, an alumni award dinner, an alumni faculty award luncheon, I going to be changing clothes about six times.

For 29 years I have been advisor to our chapter, and for 16 years I have been a national officer ( Heartland Regional President, covering 8 chapters in Missouri and 3 in Kansas).

However I think that my most rewarding volunteer job has been the (since 1978) the treasurer of the Regional American Red Cross (covers 19 counties). I guess my volunteerism is my replacement for not having children.

Then...! Now...!
Richard "Dickie" Dean

I married my last semester Sr. year and still am (to same) which is absolutely remarkable. We have 3 kids (33, 31, and 14--yes, not a typo) and 3 grandkids--none by the 14 yr. old-lol. With the market demise and the little one, I will be working until I am in my 80's!! --which is ok as I am in the printing business for national distributed magazines and catalogs which is fun and I am pretty well my own boss in regards to time and travel.
