I work for IBM now. I negotiate major contracts with mainframe software suppliers, primarily in relation to customers that have outsourced their IT operations to us. Never a dull moment.

I married Carolyn Roth who was an Alpha Xi at Cape. It's been just over 33 years now. We have three(3) daughters. The oldest one just got married about a year ago and now lives in Springfield, MO. She graduated from Southwest Missouri State. My second in line is now a senior at Marquette University, majoring in International Business. She spent last semester touring Europe as part of her degree program. She was based at St. Claire University in Oxford, England. My youngest is a sophomore at Central Missouri State majoring in Journalism.

So my wife and I are now alone again and trying not to kill each other. But seriously, it hasn't been too bad. I run a lot and play golf whenever I can and that keeps me busy. We just got back from 2 weeks in Italy and Greece. Neither of us had ever been to Europe, so that was quite an experience. Very glad to be back in the good ole USA.

We live in the St. Louis area, as you already know.

I used to see Carl once and awhile because we both worked for McDonnell Douglas. But then the group I worked for was outsourced to IBM and I lost track. I thought maybe he had just retired, but I don't know.

Jackie (Stricker, Alpha Delta Pi, Class of 1966) and I married August 21, 1965, just a mere 37 years ago. Immediately after graduation, we moved to Union, Missouri and taught there for three years. We later moved to St. Louis where I taught for another 31 years in the Mehlville School District. I was the Director of Vocational Education and coordinated the A+ School Program for the School District. I also coached several sports at Oakville High School including softball, basketball, volleyball cross country and track. Jackie will retire in June, 2002 after 25 years as an English teacher and Librarian for the Mehlville School District.

We have two wonderful daughters who are happily married, Joelle who is thirty-four and Jennifer who is thirty. We have been blessed with five grandchildren; Ron, Jordan, Allison, Kristin and Jillian. Unfortunately, Allison has been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis so the entire family rallies behind her. She is doing very well. I also ran an Income Tax Business for twenty-seven years. I am in semi-retirement from that business, turned everything over to Jennifer. I enjoy retirement and recommend it to everyone. My retirement activities include golf, working for our Church and walking our dog, Sadie. I also volunteer at two local elementary schools helping first graders learn to read.

We (Karen, my wife of 36 years & I) moved around a lot, except I was not in the service. We moved to Northern Kentucky (across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, Ohio in 1978 and have been here since. My address is: 323 EAST SECOND STREET #105, COVINGTON, KY 41011. After the kids left home, Karen and I bought a condo down on the river on the Kentucky side. Karen walks across the river to and from work in Downtown Cincinnati each day. We absoutley love it here and will not move again. I got out of the Corporate/Manufacturing ratrace in 1992 and started a Sports Collectibles Business and just recently sold it earlier this year. I have contracted myself back to work for the new owner on a part time basis. I have also started another internet business on sports collectibles. We thought we were going to retire early, but the market/economy probably has put that off for a LONG while.

We have three children and four grandchildren. Our three of our children graduated from The University of Kentucky. Mark (35) is a chef in St. Louis and getting married for the first time in February. David (33) Principle of the largest High School in Ohio lives close to us and has 3 children (Christian 9, Chandler 6, Chloe 4). He is also a Pike! And Elizabeth (27) lives with husband in Racine, Wisconsin and has (Andrew 2).

I graduated in August 67 with Dennis Baker...barely did so! But then the idea was just to graduate. Married Kathy and am still married to Kathy. I went to the Corps, did the Vietnam thing as a helicopter pilot (69-70), Phu Bai and Marble Mountain, I Corps, then back to the states where I left the Corps in 72. I then lived at Cape G. for a couple of years and completed a MA in Education Admin....did a couple of years as a High School Principal near my home in Southeast MO (74-76). I couldn't stand it!!...moved on to the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, Chicago, IL. as a Special Agent (76-82) then to the Office of Investigations, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Chicago, IL (82-98) as Senior Special Agent. During the above time periods, I remained in the Marine Reserves, flying UH-1Es and Ns (Hueys). My unit was activated for Desert Storm at age 47 and shipped to the Philippines (Jan. thru Nov 1991). Fought the battle of Olongapo City (Subic Bay) a rollicking hard drinking oasis and great place to fly. I conducted rescue operations during Operation Fiery Vigil (Volcano- Mt. Pinatubo) while training to go in to IRAQ...didn't happen...no war, just a skirmish! Avoided a court martial for kicking the shit out of a loud mouth in the O'Club...U.S. forces were then kicked out of the Philippines along with all of the American Forces. I retired from the Corps as an 05 (Lt. Col.)...February 1998 retired from the "G" and established Walker Investigative Consultants Inc. specializing in conducting investigations into violations of the Atomic Energy Act on behalf of Nuclear Utilities. I currently travel too much...have too high cholesterol...constantly diet and drink single malt scotch for relaxation...not much has changed!! HA!! Oh yes, Kathy and I have two boys, one a lawyer, the other an aspiring Howard Stern, trying to make his way in broadcast radio. My immediate goal, to leave Chicago and build or buy a home back in Cape Girardeau to reclaim my youth!!! HA!
