Susan (Alpha Chi Omega) and I have been married for 33 years and are living in Columbus, GA ('bout 100 miles south of Atlanta). We have 3 kids, all grown and married. I've been able to see several brothers since graduating but not nearly enough. I enjoyed getting the PIKE directory on CD as well. Susan teaches 3rd grade and I work with a small consulting group out of Atlanta in the Financial Services and Payments industry.

After graduation from SEMO in1968 I worked as a Labor Relations
Representative for General Motors for approximately 1 year until the Army
wanted my
body. Rather than get drafted for 2 years I decided to try my luck with
the Officer Programs and was selected for the Air Force OTS program in the
summer of 69'.
I actually met the mother of my 2 children while at OTS, as she was 6 weeks
behind me in the program. Kinda like the movie "An Officer and a
Gentleman".
After OTS, and Pilot Training in Phoenix I was assigned to fly C-130's in
Tawain and Viet Nam. After my overseas tour I instructed in the Air Force
for another
7 years at Williams AFB, outside of Phoenix and at Mather AFB, outside of
Sacramento.
I then applied for the commerical airline business and was hired in
1978 by Pacific Southwest Airlines(PSA), a west coast regional carier.
I took up residence
in San Diego and have lived there ever since 1979. Poway is about 25 miles
north and a little inland from San Diego.
In 1988 PSA was bought by US
Airways, a east
coast carrier. I am now based in Philadelphia, flying the 757 &767
aircraft, but still living in San Diego.
I went through a divorce and then
was remarried to my present
wife, Ginny in1987. My 2 children have both entered the medical field as
Doctors and my wife's 2 boys live with us and are still in school. I have a
little over 3 years
until retirement and can't wait.

I married my high school sweetheart, Cheryl, who some of you may remember as my date at all the Pike functions back in 65-66. As a matter of fact, we used to double date with Gill "Rat" Sears and his girlfriend Jeanie.
After my sophomore year I transferred to the U of MO at Columbia for a double degree in agriculture and journalism. Right after college, in 1969, I served as a war correspondent in Vietnam
.
From 1970 until 1998 I worked in various positions as a magazine editor for Meredith Corp in Des Moines, IA (They publish Better Homes & Gardens, Ladies Home Journal and twenty or so other national magazines). During that time my wife and I served as hosts for trips in their travel department. We have taken groups to every continent except the Arctic and Antarctic.
During those years we raised two sons, Scott 27 and Rick 24 who both live in Iowa. We live on a 500 acre farm 20 miles south of Des Moines that we own and operate. In 98 I took an early buyout from Meredith Corp and now operate my own home based writing and public relations business, Eftink Ink, in addition to farming.
Cheryl just retired last week from her position as district director of the Small Business Administration after 36 years with the federal government.
We still have lots of family in the Cape Girardeau area and actually have a summer cabin on a fishing lake about 15 miles south of Cape where we spend time each summer. Hopefully, now that our lifestyle is slowing down a little, maybe I can reestablish contact with some of the Epsilon Iota brothers.

Jim lives in Dexter, Missouri, also home of Brother Art Ockel. Jim has gone back to teaching, but this will be his last year as he just does not have the temperament to deal with the kids today because of the lack of discipline they receive at home. He is very active in his local church (They also have a web page: www.arkofhopeinc.com).
Jim has been 'back' in Dexter for about 9 years and is living on his original homeplace since the death of his father. Previous to this, he was living in Wisconsin. Jim said that he comes to Memphis several times a year to see his brother-in-law.
If you'd like to contact Jim, the e-mail address of his church or religious organization is:

Since I graduated in 1969 I have been a high school teacher and coach.
Dennis Pelsma, Mike Portell, and myself taught in the Crystal City area
after graduation. I then took a job in the Hazelwood School District in
1973. I taught biology and chemistry at Hazelwood East as well as being
the
boys varsity basketball coach until I retired in 1999. Since then I've
taught part at Pattonville High School up until this year. My wife and I
(she is
only 43 years old, lucky me) live in Maryland Heights, MO and bought a
condo in Naples, FL last year with two 18 hole golf courses nearby. I
started
playing golf last spring and really enjoy it. We hope to move to Naples
in the future.
